These Terms and Conditions govern your use of web-translate.com and the purchase of any translation, localization, transcreation, subtitling or interpreting service through it. They comply with Spanish and EU consumer-protection law, including Royal Legislative Decree 1/2007 (the consolidated text of the General Law for the Protection of Consumers and Users, TRLGDCU) and the EU rules on distance selling. By placing an order, you accept these terms.
Services are provided by web-translate, C. de Teseo, 96, San Blas-Canillejas, 28027 Madrid, Spain — see our Legal Notice for full identification details.
We sell certified/sworn translation, legal & financial translation, medical & life-sciences translation, technical & engineering translation, website & software localization, marketing transcreation, subtitling & audiovisual translation, and interpreting, each priced on a published basis (per word, per page, per hour or per minute) shown on the relevant service page and on our Pricing page. Bespoke, high-volume, retainer or unlisted work is handled through a scoped enquiry at /quote/ rather than the standard cart.
All prices shown on the site are in euros and exclude IVA (Spanish VAT) unless stated otherwise. IVA at the applicable rate (currently 21% for the services we offer) is added at checkout for consumers and for businesses without a valid intra-EU VAT number. If you provide a valid VAT number for a business established in another EU member state, the reverse-charge mechanism applies and IVA is not added to your invoice; if you are established outside the EU, your order is zero-rated for Spanish VAT. The final price, including any applicable tax, is always shown before you confirm your order.
You place an order by configuring a service (language pair, quantity, turnaround, delivery format and any add-ons), adding it to your cart, and completing checkout. Checkout collects your contact details, delivery details where relevant, delivery method and payment, and ends with an itemised order review before you confirm. On confirmation you receive an order reference and a summary of what happens next; where the order requires a source document you have not yet sent us, we will tell you how to provide it. A contract for the service is formed once we accept your order and confirm it in this way.
Turnaround options (standard, rush or express) and delivery formats (secure digital delivery, or a stamped paper copy sent by post or courier) are selected at checkout and shown with their price on the order summary. Turnaround windows run from the point we have everything we need from you — the final, legible source document and any instructions needed to complete the work. Delays caused by an incomplete or illegible source document, a late reply to a clarification question, or a change of scope after work has started are not counted against the original turnaround window. You are responsible for making sure the document you send us is the correct, current version and that you have the right to share it with us for translation.
Payment is taken at the payment step of checkout, using the method offered there. Where checkout is running in demo/test mode, this is stated clearly on the payment step and on your order confirmation, and no real payment is taken or card data stored or transmitted. Where a live payment method is in place, payment is processed by a payment provider acting on our behalf, under its own terms; web-translate does not store your full card details.
As a consumer buying at a distance, you generally have 14 calendar days from the date of your order to withdraw without giving a reason, by telling us at support@web-translate.com quoting your order reference.
This right works differently for a service business like ours, because translation work usually needs to start straight away to meet your deadline:
If you believe a delivered translation contains a demonstrable error, tell us within 14 days of delivery and we will correct it free of charge. This does not affect your other statutory rights as a consumer. Full detail on cancellations, refunds and this quality remedy is in our Refund & Cancellation Policy.
We treat the documents you send us as confidential, as described in our Privacy Policy. Once you have paid in full, the translation we deliver is yours to use; we make no claim over its content. Our own working materials — glossaries, translation-memory data and internal process documentation — remain our property.
We are liable for loss or damage you suffer as a foreseeable result of our failure to comply with these terms or to exercise reasonable skill and care, up to the amount you paid for the order in question. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded under Spanish law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud. We are not liable for the decision of a third-party body (a consulate, university, court or civil registry) to accept or refuse any document, translated or otherwise — our FAQ and service pages explain what we can and cannot confirm about a specific receiving body’s requirements.
Neither party is liable for a delay or failure to perform caused by circumstances beyond its reasonable control, including but not limited to extreme weather, power or network outages, strikes, or acts of a public authority. We will tell you as soon as reasonably possible if this affects your order, and agree a revised timeline or a refund for the affected work.
If something goes wrong, contact us first at support@web-translate.com so we can put it right. If you are an EU consumer and prefer an out-of-court route, you can also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
These terms are governed by Spanish law. If you are a consumer, any dispute may be brought before the courts of your own place of residence in Spain, or before the courts of Madrid, at your choice, as mandatory Spanish consumer law provides. For business customers, disputes are submitted to the courts of Madrid, Spain.
We may update these terms from time to time; the version that applied when you placed your order is the one that governs it. The current version always appears on this page, with its “Last updated” date.
