This policy explains what cookies and similar technologies (such as local storage) this website uses, why, and how you can control them. It complies with Article 22.2 of Spanish Law 34/2002 (LSSI-CE) and the guidance of the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) on cookie consent.
A cookie is a small file, or a similar piece of stored data, that a website places on your device to remember information between visits or pages — for example, what’s in your cart, or whether you’ve already told us your cookie preferences.
When you first visit web-translate.com, a banner offers you three equal, real choices: Reject all, Preferences, and Accept all. Nothing beyond what’s strictly necessary to run the site loads before you choose. If you choose “Preferences,” you can switch each non-essential category on or off individually, then save your choice. Rejecting is exactly as easy as accepting — no button is styled or positioned to push you toward one choice.
Your choice is saved so we don’t ask again on every page, and it persists until you change it. You can change your mind at any time using the “Cookie settings” link in the footer, which reopens the banner with your current choices shown.
No marketing or advertising cookies are used on this site.
| Name | Purpose | Provider | Type | Category | Retention |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
wt.consent.v1 | Remembers your cookie choice, so we don’t ask again on every page | web-translate (first-party) | Local storage | Necessary | 12 months, or until you change your choice |
wt.cart.v1 | Remembers what’s in your cart between pages and visits | web-translate (first-party) | Local storage | Necessary | 30 days of inactivity, or until you check out or clear your cart |
wt.order.last | Lets the order-confirmation page show your latest order reference and summary | web-translate (first-party) | Local storage | Necessary | Until replaced by a new order, or cleared by you |
_ga | Distinguishes visitors for Google Analytics 4 reporting | Google Ireland Limited | HTTP cookie (third-party) | Analytics | Up to 13 months (Google’s default setting) |
_ga_<container-id> | Persists session state for Google Analytics 4 | Google Ireland Limited | HTTP cookie (third-party) | Analytics | Up to 13 months (Google’s default setting) |
This table is kept in step with the cookies the site actually sets — if a cookie is added or removed, this table is updated to match. No “Preferences” cookie is currently in use (your language is read from the page URL, not stored); the Preferences category exists in the banner for future use and currently governs nothing.
Google Analytics 4 does not load, and no _ga cookie is written, until you actively choose “Accept all” or switch on the “Analytics” category in Preferences. Before that, our analytics tag is set to a denied state and sends nothing. If you later withdraw analytics consent through “Cookie settings,” future analytics collection stops; it does not retroactively delete data already sent to Google, which is subject to Google’s own retention settings.
Alongside the controls on this site, you can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking necessary cookies may stop parts of the site — such as the cart — from working correctly.
If the cookies we use change, we will update the table in §4 and the “Last updated” date above.
